This winding system comprises a first element (2) intended to be fixed in the upper part of a mast (3), and on which is intended to be fixed the upper end of a support strut (4) of the mat a second element (5) adapted to be mounted movably along the strut and on which the upper corner of the front sail (6) is to be mounted, locking means movable between a locking position of the second element (5) on the first element (2), and an unlocking position of the second element (5), and remote control means arranged to control the displacement of the locking means to their unlocking position.
