PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system preventing degradation in printing quality in form overlay to which a head shading process and an image shift process are applied.;SOLUTION: In a printing system capable of executing form overlay printing for combining original data with form data using an ink jet recording head, and capable of printing an image by shifting the image in an arrangement direction of a nozzle array of the ink jet recording head, head shading corrections corresponding to a plurality of image shift patterns in the arrangement direction of the nozzle array are carried out on the form data on the basis of concentration characteristic information corresponding to respective nozzles of the nozzle array. Form data corresponding to one of the image shift patterns is selected from among a plurality of the corrected form data.
