PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor core of a fast reactor capable of increasing nuclear transformation ratio of a transuranium element (TRU) with respect to radioactive nuclide with a short half-life.SOLUTION: A reactor core 1 of a fast reactor has an inner reactor core area 2, an outer reactor core area 3 surrounding the inner reactor core area 2, a first radiation shield area 4 surrounding the outer reactor core area 3, and a second radiation shield area 5 surrounding the first radiation shield area 4. A plurality of inner reactor core fuel assemblies 6 including MOX fuel is loaded in the inner reactor core area 2, and a plurality of outer reactor core fuel assemblies 7 including MOX fuel is loaded in the outer reactor core area 3. Pu enrichment level of the outer reactor core fuel assemblies 7 is higher than that of the inner reactor core fuel assemblies 6. Inert matrix fuel assemblies 8 which have inert matrix fuel containing MgO and TRUOare dispersively loaded in the inner reactor core area 2 and the outer reactor core area 3. Average burnup distribution of the reactor core 1 in a radial direction is made flat, and annihilation rate of TRU increases.
