PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a target nucleic acid, which simply detects the target nucleic acid in high sensitivity. PSOLUTION: The labeled nucleic acid is detected by labeled sites by using a multi-labeled nucleic acid probe obtained by previously covalently-introducing a plurality of the labeled sites to a nucleic acid probe by a reaction between an ethynyl group in the nucleic acid probe and an azide group of a labeled compound or a reaction between an azide group in the nucleic acid probe and an ethynyl group of the labeled compound, and specifically binding the multi-labeled nucleic acid probe with the target nucleic acid existing in an object by a nucleic acid site. Otherwise, the target nucleic acid is detected by labeled sites by hybridizing a target nucleic acid to be a target with a nucleic acid probe and covalently-introducing a plurality of the labeled sites to the target nucleic acid by a reaction between an ethynyl group in the nucleic acid probe and an azide group of a labeled compound or a reaction between an azide group in the nucleic acid probe and an ethynyl group of the labeled compound.
