PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position teaching device of an industrial robot capable of easily and intuitively teaching position information. PSOLUTION: On a screen of the position teaching device, when an arbitrary cell base is subjected to drag-and-drop in an arrangement plan displaying area 53 from a cell list 71 as a unit of an assembling step, the arrangement plan corresponding to the cell base 10 is generated and displayed. Next, when units such as a "connection unit" and a "material supply unit" forming a moving target of a robot are subjected to drag-and-drop at a candidate arrangement point in the arrangement plan from a unit list, the unit image is displayed on the arrangement plan in a superposed manner. By repeating these steps, the layout design of the cell using the robot by the user is executed. Finally, the position information of each unit is taught by transmitting the data associated with the position information of the unit to the industrial robot from the position teaching device.
