PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate transmission signals of a plurality of channels to be multiplexed by one light source which outputs optical pulse of single wavelength and one optical modulator, and to prevent, even when central wavelength of a wavelength spectrum of the optical pulse fluctuates, this fluctuation from affecting a communication function.;SOLUTION: A spread optical pulse string is generated by dividing an optical pulse string consisting of optical pulses 19-1, 19-2, 19-3 aligned at time intervals of Td into four of first to fourth wavelength bands by an optical pulse wavelength dispersion device with an SSFBG to perform linear spread on a time axis under conditions that short wavelength components of the respective wavelength bands overlap with one another on the time axis and long wavelength components also overlap with one another on the time axis, encoded by assigning wavelength components of the optical pulse string for every channel to generate a modulated optical transmission signal to be transmitted from a transmitter. In a receiver, an optical demodulation received signal is generated by filtering the wavelength components assigned for every channel to be taken out from the modulated transmission signal by an optical pulse demodulator with the SSFBG.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
