The invention relates to a circuit consisting of at least one 3 stage pulse width modulation inverter having a discharge network. The discharge network is formed from at least one coil (L) two capacitors (Cu Co) and a series connection consisting of four diodes (Dh1 Dh4) poled in the same direction of which the two outer diodes (Dh1 Dh4) are respectively directly connected to the input terminals (1 3) for the positive pole and the negative pole of the input voltage. The electrical connection between the two inner diodes (Dh2 Dh3) is connected by means of the coil (L) to the input terminal (2) for the centre tap of the input voltage and to the central bridge branch of the pulse width modulation inverter. The two capacitors (Cu Co) are in one embodiment respectively connected to the electrical connection between one of the inner diodes (Dh2 Dh3) and one of the outer diodes (Dh1 Dh4) with one terminal and directly connected to the output terminal (4) with the other terminal. The circuit according to the invention enables the complete elimination of switching losses with a simple and economical structure.
