PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing a Phyllanthus extract, a Hovenia dulcis Thunberg extract, a Scutellaria baicalensis G. extract, and a cinnamon extract for preventing and treating hepatitis type B is provided to reduce the adhesion of hepatitis B virus onto hepatocytes. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating hepatitis type B contains a Phyllanthus extract, a Hovenia dulcis Thunberg extract, a Scutellaria baicalensis G. extract, and a cinnamon extract as active ingredients. Phyllanthus, Hovenia dulcis Thunberg, Scutellaria baicalensis G., and cinnamon contain ellagic acid of chemical formula 1, Jujuboside B of chemical formula 2, wogonine of chemical formula 3, and trans-cinnamaldehyde of chemical formula 4, and 2-methoxycinnamaldehyde of chemical formula 5, respectively.
