PURPOSE: A production method of a mulberry leaf extract is provided to mass-produce refined powder containing flavonoid with the high value from mulberry leaves. CONSTITUTION: Mulberry leaves harvested in June are pre-dried in the shade for a week, and dried in a 45-55C hot air drier for two days until the water content is 10 3%. 100 kg of dried mulberry leaves is mixed with 650 kg of 30% ethanol solution for ultrasound extracting for 12 hours at 40-50C, and the mixture is filtered and decompress-concentrated. The concentrate is dissolved in a 30% ethanol solution before settling for one night at room temperature, and centrifugal-separating precipitates. Supernatant is decompress-concentrated, and dissolved in a 20% ethanol solution. The concentrate passes through a Diaion HP-20 adsorption ion resin for absorbing flavonoid, and is eluted by 30% and 50% ethanol solutions. The silica gel and Sephadex column chromatography is conducted on each fraction successively.
