The present invention relates to a multilayer transparent electrode in which a MgZnO layer is formed on a metal layer and under the metal layer and a method for preparing the same. The multilayer transparent electrode according to the present invention is made of MgZnO, thereby being produced at lower production costs and having good flexibility. In addition, the multilayer transparent electrode of the present invention includes the MgZnO layer to have improved transmittance in near-UV while maintaining electrical properties such as sheet resistance or the like. In addition, according to the present invention, the adhesiveness of the metal layer can be improved by treating the MgZnO layer with an ion beam and the sheet resistance of the transparent electrode can be reduced by controlling the thickness of the metal layer.
