The present invention relates to a storage system and method of adjusting a spare area in a storage system. Since the present invention may keep the size of an available memory area of a storage system constant or wider than a minimum value and adjust the size of a spare area of an individual storage node, it is possible to finely adjust the performance of each storage node and enhance the performance of the entire storage system.
