Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for operating a scheduling request of small cell enhancements in a wireless communication system. The method for operating a scheduling request of small cell enhancements in a wireless communication system includes configuring user equipment (UE) using a first serving cell and a second serving cell. The method further includes configuring the UE using a first scheduling request (SR) resource on a first physical uplink control channel and a second SR resource on a second physical uplink control channel. The method includes selecting the first SR resource by the UE in order to start an SR procedure in response to trigger according to a buffer status report (BSR). In this case, availability of the first SR resource is more similar to timing to trigger the BSR than that of availability of the second SR resource. The method further includes transmitting scheduling requests together with the first SR resource on the first physical uplink control channel by the UE.
