PURPOSE: An antibacterial composition is provided to lessen side effects using various plants, to show superior antibacterial activity with safety, and to be used in pharmaceutical products, cleansers, or cosmetic materials. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial pharmaceutical composition contains a light-irradiated material of a Paulownia coreana Uyeki extract or a fraction thereof as an active ingredient. An antibacterial cleansing composition contains the light-irradiated material as an active ingredient. A cosmetic composition contains the light-irradiated material as an active ingredient. The Paulownia coreana Uyeki extract or the fraction thereof is treated by light at 2000-18000 lux for 1-24 hours.
