A METHOD FOR EXTRACTING MORPHOLOGICAL FEATURES FOR GRADING PANCREATIC DUCTAL ADENOCARCINOMAS

The present invention relates to a morphological feature extracting method for the stage identification of pancreatic adenocarcinoma, which segments a tissue cell image into three areas of an inner cavity, an epithelial cell nucleus, and a nonepithelial cell nucleus and extracts features from the segmented image. The composition of the present invention includes the following steps of (a) segmenting an inner cavity area from a tissue cell image; (b) identifying nuclei from the tissue cell image; (c) dividing the identified cell into an epithelial cell nucleus and a nonepithelial cell nucleus; (d) extracting inner cavity features about the inner cavity area; and (e) extracting epithelial cell features from the epithelial cell nuclei. The morphological feature extracting method is able to accurately identify pancreatic adenocarcinoma from the extracted morphological features and identify each stage of the pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
