A receiver operation method and an apparatus thereof considering adjacent channel interface in a mobile communication system changing ADC sampling speed or output bit number are provided to measure interference of the adjacent channel signal and reduce power consumption in a region without the interference of the adjacent channel. A receiver measures the interference value showing the interference of the adjacent channel(300). The receiver confirms whether the interference value is bigger than bit change standard value(302). If the interference value is bigger than the bit change standard value, it sets up as the high bit number preset the output bit number of ADC(304). It is smaller than the bit change standard value or the interference value is the same. The receiver sets up as the low bit number predetermining output bit number of ADC(306). The receiver confirms whether it is greater than the frequency change standard value in which it becomes the standards in which the interference value changes the sampling rate(308). The receiver sets up as the low operating frequency predetermining the operating frequency of ADC(312).
