The present invention relates to principle and method for restoring an aspheric equation by measuring the surface of an aspheric shape. The method for restoring an aspheric equation comprises an aspheric shape surface measuring step of measuring the shape of an aspheric lens; a spherical equation data calculation step; an error curve data calculation step; an aspheric coefficient calculation step of calculating an aspheric coefficient by an inverse matrix method from error curve data; an iterative calculation step of comparing data difference between the data measured in the measuring step and the data calculated from a newly calculated aspheric equation and calculating the difference until the data difference is within a certain range; a parameter calculation step of calculating aspheric equation parameters when the data difference is within the certain range; and an aspheric equation restoring step of restoring the aspheric equation based on the parameters calculated in the parameter calculating step.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
