The present invention relates to a composition containing a Maximowiczia Chinensis extract for preventing and alleviating muscular dystrophy and a method for producing the same. The composition according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a Maximowiczia Chinensis extract obtained by mixing and extracting Maximowiczia Chinensis with C1-4 low class alcohol or an alcohol solution having 50-200 volume% of the same, and may have effects in preventing and alleviating muscular dystrophy. The Maximowiczia Chinensis extract according to the present invention has effects in preventing and alleviating muscular dystrophy by inhibiting the activities of mRNA related to muscle protein destruction and activating the expression of mRNA related to muscle protein synthesis. When the Maximowiczia Chinensis extract uses Maximowiczia Chinensis seeds, muscular dystrophy alleviating effects are very great and do not cause side effects when being used.
