The battery (10) has multiple battery cells (12) i.e. lithium ion cells, for storing electrical power, and an acceleration sensor (14) for detecting acceleration. An evaluating device i.e. measuring electronic system (16), evaluates signals of sensor. The evaluating device is electrically connected with the battery cells via a coupling path (20) such that the evaluating device is supplied with the electrical power. The evaluating device is coupled with a control device (18) by which discharging of the electric power to a vehicle or to a drive unit of the vehicle is controlled.
