The assembly has a radiator grill (5) and a bumper. A sealing element (11) is arranged at an upper turned edge (9) in mounted state of a bonnet (7) of a motor car (3). A seal lip (13) is arranged at specific distance from the bonnet. The seal lip is provided with a stop for the bonnet and arranged along longitudinal direction of the motor car in first function position. The seal lip is provided with a support surface for the bonnet and arranged along vertical direction of the motor car in second function position. An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening a front assembly for a motor car.
