Connecting element (3) for connecting at least a first component (1) of a first metal material with a second component (2) of a second metal material, comprises at least one first portion (3a) of the first metal material and at least one second portion (3b) of the second metal material. The connecting element is molded so that it partially covers the first component and the second component in a bonding arrangement. The first portion in the bonding arrangement is present at the first component, and the second portion in the bonding arrangement is present at the second component. INDEPENTDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a composite component comprising the first component of the first metal material, which is connected with the second component of the second metal material, where (a) the connection of the first component is provided with the second component in the bonding arrangement by the connecting element, (b) at least one first portion is connected with the first component, and (c) at least one second portion is connected with the second component; and (2) connecting the first component of the first metal material with the second component of the second metal material, comprising setting the bonding arrangement of the first component with the second component, preparing at least one connecting element with at least one first portion of the first metal material and at least one second portion of the second metal material, connecting the portions and forming the connecting element so that the connecting element at least partially covers the first component and the second component in the bonding arrangement, arranging at least one connecting element to the components in the bonding arrangement so that at least one first portion is connected on the first component and at least one second portion is connected on the second component, welding at least one first portion with the first component and at least one second portion with the second component.
