The device (1) has processing machine (12) having machine tool which defines machining surface on which to-be-processed surface of workpiece (2) is removed, and suspension (3) to which processing machine is pivoted around rotational axis. An actuator (11) arrnaged between suspension and processing machine causes torque about rotational axis of the machine. A controller drives actuator such that torque caused by actuator compensates weight force of machine tool caused torque and adjustable force is exerted on tool at working surface to workpiece. An independent claim is included for method for automatic machining of workpieces.
