Method for controlling cylinder in combustion engine of vehicle, involves determining desired cylinder activation/deactivation sequence and determining volumetric efficiency based on cylinder activation/deactivation sequence
The method involves determining a desired cylinder activation/deactivation sequence, where valves of cylinders of a motor (102) are activated and deactivated based on the desired cylinder activation/deactivation sequence. Volumetric efficiency (VE) is determined based on the cylinder activation/deactivation sequence and based on inlet valve phase adjustment and exhaust valve phase adjustment parameters. Forecast intake channel pressure is determined based on pressure in an intake manifold of the motor. Forecast discharge passage pressure is determined based on mass at air. The valves are a butterfly valve (112), an inlet valve (122), a boost pressure control valve (162), an EGR valve (170) and an exhaust valve (130).
