The source (2) has a thin support (4) in form of a plate provided with distinct electrodes or electrical contact tracks. Organic LEDs (6) on the support are powered by the electrodes. The support includes a cavity, and one of the organic LEDs is inserted into the cavity and in contact with the electrodes, where the support is made of molded plastic material. The cavity is formed by molding. The electrodes are extended on a face of the support in vicinity of one of the cavities. One of the organic LEDs includes a transparent substrate (8) in contact with the electrodes. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a light source.
