PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module capable of easily and accurately evaluating the characteristic of an optical module.;SOLUTION: An optical module 100 comprises: a housing 10 including an internal space 14 including an opening on a board mounting surface and an element mounting surface constituting part of inner surface of the internal space 14; an optical element 20 mounted on the element mounting surface; an electronic element 30 mounted on the element mounting surface and connected with the optical element 20; a lens element 40 arranged in correspondence to the optical element 20; and a holding mechanism 50 for holding the lens element 40 at an arranged position. The holding mechanism 50 includes a guide mechanism 53 formed such that it allows an optical connector to fit into it. If the holding mechanism is mounted on the circuit board on the board mounting surface, light travelling on an optical guide is introduced to the internal space 14 from an introduction port connected to the internal space 14.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
