PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulation structure for a sound wave transmitter/receiver suitable for an underground survey device of an underground excavator, capable of insulating sound transmitted directly through an underground excavator body and withstanding the wear due to friction with peripheral natural ground caused by water pressure and excavation at a great depth.;SOLUTION: A sound insulation structure for a sound wave transmitter/receiver includes: a sound wave transmitter/receiver body 13 transmitting or receiving sound waves; a mold layer 14 made of a high polymer material coating the sound wave transmitter/receiver body 13; and a multilayer structure (15, 16, 18, 17, 19) attached to an outer peripheral surface of the mold layer 14 and surrounding a side face of the sound wave transmitter/receiver body 13.
