HYDROGEN PRODUCTION SYSTEM USING SUNLIGHT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production system capable of generating hydrogen by using sunlight through irradiating a surface of a photocatalyst with light in a high efficiency.SOLUTION: The hydrogen production system includes: a plurality of lenses 102 for focusing light from the sun 101; a plurality of optical fibers 42 each propagating light focused by each of the plurality of lenses 102; and a hydrogen production apparatus 104 to which each one end of the plurality of optical fibers 42 is connected. The hydrogen production apparatus 104 includes: a water-containing liquid; a photocatalyst; and a plurality of light guide members for emitting light while guiding light made incident into the end part, which are arranged in a vessel. Thereby, it becomes possible to irradiate the photocatalyst with the sunlight, propagated by the optical fibers 42, from the light guide members, and consequently, the water contained in the liquid can be decomposed into hydrogen and oxygen by a photochemical reaction of the photocatalyst, and hydrogen can be produced.
