Use of CXCL17, a novel chemokine marker for human lung and gastrointestinal diseases

Methods are provided for treating diseases associated with increased chemokine CXCL17 levels. The method includes administering to a subject in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of a substance that reduces the activity level of CXCL17. This substance can be a CXCL17 antibody or an antisense compound that targets CXCL17, such as an antisense oligonucleotide or siRNA. Also provided are methods of treating tumors with CXCL17 and diagnosing diseases associated with increased CXCL17 levels. [Selection figure] None
