PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time needed for width reduction of a rolled material and thereby to improve the efficiency of the whole hot rolling process by efficiently reducing the width of each rolled material in a hot rolling line.;SOLUTION: Width reduction facilities 1 include: a width reduction device 2 having a pair of press dies 3a, 3b facing each other in a width direction of a rolled material; a conveyor device 6 which conveys the rolled material 15 between the pair of press dies 3a, 3b; and a control part 12 which controls a conveyance amount each time the rolled material 15 is reduced in width. The width reduction device 2 presses the pair of press dies 3a, 3b against the rolled material 15 from the width direction of the rolled material 15 to reduce the width of the rolled material 15. The control part 12 sets a maximum conveyance amount of the rolled material 15 which satisfies allowable torque of the width reduction device 2 or less according to a width reduction amount of the rolled material 15, and controls a conveyance amount of the rolled material 15 by the conveyor device 6 at each time of width reduction to the maximum conveyance amount.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
