The present invention provides recombinant DNA in combination with heat inactivated protein heterologous booster for use in vaccine which is capable of inducing protective antibodies against ε (epsilon) toxin (Etx) of Clostridium perfringens when administered to animals which provide therapy against the infection of C. perfringens Etx. Particularly this invention provides eukaryotic expression vector harboring Etx gene sequence and heterologous booster to use in an effective vaccine strategy.
