Assembly and method for the preliminary investigation of plants to be picked up with a harvester

The arrangement has a sensor assembly (62) for generating the signals of property of a plant (82). The measuring units (88,92,94,100,102) detect property of harvester (10). An evaluation unit (76) generates the calibration data based on the signals and calculates the property of the recorded plants on basis of statistical parameters and calibration data. The evaluation unit determines automatically relationships between signals from sensor assembly and measuring unit and accounts the determined relationships in calculating the property of the plants. An independent claim is included for method for predictive analysis of plant.
