The invention refers to a forestry winch with controlled decoiling of a towing cable (2) extending from a winding drum via the upper pulley block (3) and via the lower pulley block (4) towards each towed load. An additional rolling member (5) is foreseen between said upper pulley block (3) and said lower pulley block (4) and is with the possibility of swiveling between its first end position and second end position embedded on said upper pulley block (3). Said winch is moreover furnished with a sensor (6), which is capable to identify, whether said rolling member (5) is located in its first or in its second position, which depends on the state of the towing cable (2), namely on the tension thereof in the area between the upper pulley block (3) and the lower pulley block (4). Consequently, the motor (32) for driving the pulley (30) of the upper pulley block (3) can be controlled on the basis of signal received from said sensor (6).˙
