The present invention relates to a method for stabilizing waste foundry sand for a road base and, more particularly, to a method for stabilizing waste foundry sand for a road base, wherein various materials included waste foundry sand, which is generated in a foundry complex or foundry products, are removed or stabilized using a thermal method, and the stabilized waste foundry sand can be used as a road base or a material for remedying the environment. For the purpose, the present invention comprises: a waste foundry sand crushing step of collecting waste foundry sand generated in a foundry complex or foundry products and crushing the collected waste foundry sand into fine particles using a roll mill or a crusher; a sorting step of separating iron contained in the crushed waste foundry sand using an iron separator; and a thermal treatment stabilizing step of stabilizing the waste foundry sand having iron separated therefrom by removing harmful materials while being heated and cooled in the process of going through a thermal treatment stabilizing device and using the waste foundry sand, which has been stabilized by thermal treatment, as a road base.
