摘要

The present invention relates to novel mutated ornithine decarboxylase protein having enhanced capability of producing purtrescine, and to use thereof. According to the present invention, the mutated ornithine decarboxylase protein has putrescine conversion activity 21 times greater than that of natural type protein. When introduced into a prior putrescine-producing strain, the mutated ornithine decarboxylase protein significantly increases putrescine producing activity of the strain. Therefore, the mutated ornithine decarboxylase protein is an alternative for a protein used in the prior chemical synthesis pathway, and is expected to be used for more efficient mass-production of putrescine. In the mutated ornithine decarboxylase protein, a 163rd isoleucine amino acid residue and a 165th glutamic acid from an N-terminal of ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) having an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID: 1 are mutated.
