The present invention relates to a novel mutant ornithine decarboxylase protein having improved putrescine productivity, and to uses thereof. According to the present invention, the mutant ornithine decarboxylase protein can be broadly used for efficient mass production of putrescine as an alternative of the existing path for chemical synthesis, by increasing putrescine conversion activities by 21 times in comparison with a natural type, and significantly increasing putrescine production activities when being introduced to the existing putrescine-producing strain.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
