The present invention relates to an optical modulation unit and a stereoscopic display device including the same, which are capable of simplifying production thereof and have improved performance. The optical modulation unit comprises: a liquid crystal cell which has different types of phase delay amounts of transmission light in ON/OFF; and a phase delay film unit which is arranged at either an optical route of light passing through the liquid crystal cell or an optical route of light entering the liquid crystal cell and includes a phase delay film having a fixed phase delay amount. Given that a wavelength of the light passing through both the liquid crystal cell and the phase delay film unit is , the phase delay amount of the light passing through both the liquid crystal cell and the phase delay film unit is /4 if the liquid crystal cell is ON, and is -/4 if the liquid crystal cell is OFF, or the phase delay amount is -/4 if the liquid crystal cell is ON, and is /4 if the liquid crystal cell is OFF.
