The present invention relates to a left-right independent steering control system and a left-right independent steering control method. If the steering angle of a vehicle is not controlled to be appropriate for the steering input of a driver when one of the left or the right wheel steering apparatus of the vehicle malfunctions, the left-right independent steering control system and the left-right independent steering control method control the steering angles of both wheels to satisfy an Ackerman condition by controlling the other of the steering apparatuses which does not malfunctions. The left-right independent steering control system comprises: a steering control calculation part calculating steering control inputs on the wheels from the steering input of a driver; wheel steering parts controlling the steering angles of the wheels respectively using the calculated information; a malfunction determination part determining the malfunction state of the wheel steering part for one of the wheels by determining whether the steering angles controlled by the wheel steering parts are equal to steering angles corresponding to the steering control inputs; and a malfunction management part controlling the steering angle of one of the wheels to satisfy the Ackerman condition based on information on the current steering angle of the other of wheels when the malfunction determination part determines that the other of the wheel steering parts malfunctions.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
