The present invention discloses a method for processing validity of collecting wireless access in vehicular environment (WAVE)-based traffic information and appropriateness of providing traffic information. In the present invention, a communication area of a roadside base station wirelessly communicating with a traffic information terminal of a vehicle in a wireless environment of a WAVE includes a communication area of collecting traffic information and a terminal confirmation communication area. The roadside base station may be able to collect the source traffic information from the traffic information terminal only when a vehicle is positioned within the terminal confirmation communication area, so that the roadside base station can collect valid source traffic information from the vehicle which drives on a corresponding road, rather than a nearby road, and transmit the collected source traffic information to a server. Then, the server provides appropriate traffic information obtained by processing only valid traffic information to the traffic information terminal of the vehicle driving on the corresponding road, while eliminating information pollution and an obstacle to driving resulting from provision of unnecessary information, thereby promoting safe driving of a driver.
