The present invention relates to a linear accelerator and, more particularly, to a linear accelerator adopting a resonator with an asymmetric nose. In the present invention, disclosed is the resonator for the linear accelerator which includes: an accelerating cavity which has a preset shape, an input nose which is connected to an input opening part of the accelerating cavity, and an output nose which is connected to an output opening part of the accelerating cavity. The input nose and the output nose are formed with an asymmetric shape. According to the present invention, implemented is the linear accelerator capable of improving transmission efficiency, reducing the energy distribution of an electron beam, and efficiently focusing a charged particle which is accelerated by controlling the distribution of an electric field in the accelerating cavity by applying the asymmetric shape to the input nose and the output nose which are connected to the accelerating cavity.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
