The present invention relates to a desulfurizing apparatus of a nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst capable of preventing performance degradation of a nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst by providing a recommendation path for desulfurization of the nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst if desulfurization of the nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst is necessary; and a desulfurizing method. The desulfurizing method of a nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst comprises: a step of determining whether a navigation device searches a path; a step of determining whether desulfurization of the nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst is necessary if searching the path; a step of recommending the path for desulfurization of the nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst if desulfurization of the nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst is necessary; a step of determining whether driving on a recommended path; a step of determining whether a desulfurization condition of the nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst is satisfied when driving on the recommended path; and a step of performing desulfurization of the nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst if the desulfurization condition of the nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst is satisfied.
