A method for automatically opening and closing a refrigerator door and a refrigerator having an automatic drawer door is provided to offer proper operation when a problem is generated in an opening and closing process of the door. A refrigerator(200) having an automatic drawer door includes an operational panel(201), a MICOM(203), a driving motor(204), a door gear, a guide rail, a door on/off confirmation sensor(207). The operational panel inputs on/off command of the drawer door. The MICOM controls opening and closing of the door according to an input signal. The driving motor drives operation of the door according to the control of the driving motor. The door gear is rotated by the driving motor. The guider rail is formed to move the drawer door automatically. The door on/off confirmation sensor confirms a state of the door.
