The present invention relates to a novel strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae used in the manufacture of a distilled liquor, a distilled liquor prepared using the same, and a method for producing a distilled liquor using the same. The distilled liquor prepared according to the present invention has excellent sensory characteristics due to proper harmony of flavor contributing ingredients by using the strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae 88-4 when fermenting alcohol.
