The invention relates to engine construction and can be used in spark ignition piston engine engines. The essence of the invention is that gas mixture flows from a combustion chamber into an ignition chamber during compression. The residual gases in the ignition chamber (4) are kept at a temperature of 500-700 ° C. These residual gases, when contacted and mixed with the fuel-air mixture, initiate combined reforming reactions of lower alkanes, which are constituents of hydrocarbon fuels, releasing hydrogen and carbon monoxide. In this case, an intensification of the combined reforming reactions during compression is ensured by the fact that the pressure and the temperature of the gas mixture at the time of sparking in the ignition chambers (4) and combustion chambers (1) accordingly to 5-5.5 MPa and 500-600 ° C are increased.
