A hydraulic pump 10 comprises a fluid chamber housing 12 within which is located a rotor 14. The fluid chamber housing and the rotor cooperate with one another to define a fluid chamber 16 there between. The fluid chamber housing includes first and second outlets 30a, 30b each of which is arranged in communication with a corresponding first or second portion 32a, 32b of the fluid chamber. The fluid chamber housing and the rotor are moveable relative to one another to vary the relative size of the first and second fluid chamber portions, the hydraulic pump further includes a control assembly 36 that is configured to move the fluid chamber housing and the rotor relative to one another. The housing and fluid chamber housing maybe movable by either sliding or pivoting means.
