PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high salient pole ratio which enables the realization of a sensorless a linear motor.SOLUTION: In a linear motor 1 which has a stator 2, and a moving element 3 having a field magnet 37 and an annular armature winding 38, the moving element 3 has a needle iron core 31 having a plurality of tooth parts 33 around which an armature winding 38 is wound, a first hole part 40 is formed in a slot part 36 for accommodating the armature winding 38, on a part or all of tooth parts 33 among the plurality of tooth parts 33. The first hole part 40 is formed at a position apart from an edge at the stator 2 side of the tooth part 33.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
