PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder supply system for a carboneous fuel gasification furnace, in which pressure in a powder feeding hopper can be brought into an atmospheric state without wasting gas.SOLUTION: The powder supply system for a carboneous fuel gasification furnace comprises: a hopper 3 which receives pulverized coal and into which gas that does not contain at least oxidant is filled; an atmospheric pressure recovery tank 31 and an atmospheric pressure recovery tank 33 which are communicated with the hopper 3; a first pressure reducing exhaust valve V1 used for gas discharge to the atmospheric pressure recovery tank 31; a second pressure reducing exhaust valve V2 used for gas discharge to the atmospheric pressure recovery tank 33; and a control part which controls the first pressure reducing exhaust valve V1 and the second pressure reducing exhaust valve V2. In the powder supply system, the control part controls the first pressure reducing exhaust valve V1 in such a way that the gas containing no oxidant inside the hopper 3 is recovered to the atmospheric pressure recovery tank 31 until the hopper 3 and the atmospheric pressure recovery tank 31 reach a pressure-equalized state, and controls the second pressure reducing exhaust valve V2 in such a way that the gas not containing oxidant inside the hopper 3 is recovered to the atmospheric pressure recovery tank 33 until the inside of the hopper 3 reaches atmospheric pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
