The invention relates to a method for fastening an annular unbalance correction device (3) to a washing drum (2) of a domestic appliance the unbalance correction device (3) being inserted into a circumferential receiving part (16) of the washing drum (2). A projection (15) formed on a housing (13) of the unbalance correction device (3) is heated and plastically deformed such that the projection (15) engages behind a wall (17) of the washing drum (2) which wall delimits the receiving part (16).
