The present invention relates to an authentication apparatus and method based on a mobile terminal for an electronic atomizing apparatus. The apparatus comprises a Bluetooth control module, an information transmission module, an information searching module, an information input module and a comparison and authentication module. The authentication method includes: establishing a Bluetooth connection between a battery rod and a mobile terminal; after the connection between an atomizer and the battery rod succeeds, sending a serial number of the battery rod to the mobile terminal; searching for corresponding user identification information according to the serial number of the battery rod; receiving and storing authentication information input by a user; and performing comparison and authentication on the authentication information and user identification information input by the user. In the present invention, the mobile terminal and the electronic atomizing apparatus are connected by means of Bluetooth, some authentication apparatuses on the mobile terminal are directly utilized, and the authentication of the electronic atomizing apparatus is implemented on the mobile terminal, such that on the basis of implementing the authentication, the manufacturing costs of the electronic atomizing apparatus are greatly decreased, which is advantageous for the market popularization of the authentication-type electronic atomizing apparatus.
