Provided are a bisphenol and diamine containing benzocyclobutene structural unit, and preparation and application thereof; specifically, the present invention uses 4-halo-benzocyclobutene as a raw material to obtain 4-acyl-benzocyclobutene via acylation, and the 4-acyl-benzocyclobutene is reacted with substituted phenol or aniline in an acidic condition to obtain a compound represented by formula I, definitions of each group are described in the specification. The process of the present invention is simple, can be operated easily, has an excellent yield, and is suitable for large-scale industrial production; and the obtained product has a curable group, and can be used to prepare a novel organic thermoset material having high-performance.
