The present invention relates to a novel functional food composition comprising stevia extract or a component thereof, such as steviol and stevioside as an active ingredient. The term "functional food" as used herein indicates utility in nutritional, pharmaceutical and veterinary applications. The compositions are useful for cognitive function, such as improved learning, memory and agility, and mental stability.
