The present invention relates to a polydopamine-coated macromolecular base material, mediated by a carboxyl group, and to a production method thereof. According to the present invention, the polydopamine-coated macromolecular base material has enhanced cell adhesiveness and a cell diffusion level owing to increase in homogeneity of the coating. In addition, a pattern is easily formed, mediated by the carboxyl group. Thus, the base material of the present invention can be used in a system engineering field such as a cell support.
